Research
Here are some research projects by Michael Ivanov, Ph.D.Consensus Therapy
Consensus Therapy (CT) is a provisional systemic framework for addressing perceptual misalignment in couples. It grew out of research on Perceptual Agreement and translates that work into a structured clinical process for clarifying how partners understand one another’s emotions, intentions, and relational meanings. A peer-reviewed article describing the framework has been accepted for publication in The Family Journal.Perceptual Agreement
Research into Perceptual Agreement examines the dynamics of dyadic relationships, such as romantic partnerships, by focusing on the pair’s shared perceptions of each other and their relationship. It explores variations among couples along a continuum, ranging from perceptual cohesiveness to illusion-driven unions.Behavioral Communication
Research into behavioral communication focuses on studying individual differences in using behaviors as a form of communication. It examines individuals’ tendencies to substitute direct messages with indirect but communicative behaviors, such as emotional withdrawal.Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.
