I am a New York licensed psychologist. Additionally, I am credentialed by the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. I have over 10 years of experience in diverse clinical settings, including university counseling centers, inpatient and outpatient clinics, and community mental health. I specialize in evidence-based treatment of various mood-related conditions. I help clients with regulation of emotions, stress, and difficulties in relationships. I particularly enjoy working with couples. I also provide clinical supervision for graduate students and pre-licensed clinicians. I am fluent in English and Russian.
I completed my doctorate (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology at California School of Professional Psychology, San Francisco and my internship training at California Polytechnic State University, Counseling Center in San Luis Obispo. Previously, I obtained Masters’ Degree (M.S.) in Clinical Psychology from San Francisco State University.
Advanced Clinical Training
I have attended diverse seminars on psychoanalytic theory and therapy at San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute for over 5 years. I am also trained in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT). Thus, I try to find the best theoretical approach to fit each client’s specific needs and goals (vs. applying one theory to fit all the clients and every situation).
I am a principal investigator of the longitudinal study: Reality & Illusion in Romantic Relationships as well as the research on Behavioral Communication. I develop assessment tools for personality and relationship traits, and I consult other researchers and graduate students on complex online data collection strategies, data analysis and test development. I am also the founder and Webmaster of www.PsyResearch.org that ranks #1 for psychology abstracts by major search engines. I have also published articles and presented at numerous national and international conferences on topics of individual differences, personality traits, and relationship assessments.
